Transsion Holdings’ subsidiary smartphone brand TECNO Mobile has launched the Tecno Camon i today in India. It is a camera-centric smartphone offering a 13MP camera on both the front and rear. The Tecno Camon i is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be made available first at the offline stores.
The Tecno Camon i features a 5.65-inch 720p HD+ FullView display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core 64-bit processor, clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-T720 GPU, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.
One more interesting thing about the microSD card expansion is that a user can use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time as the phone comes with a dedicated microSD card slot instead of a hybrid slot, against the current trend set by many manufacturers.
As the brand claimed the phone to be camera-centric, they seem to be citing camera as the USP of the device. The Tecno Camon i sports a 13MP rear camera with quad-LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and on the front, there is a 13MP facing camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture with 80-degree field of view. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with company’s own HiOS skin on top.
The fingerprint scanner is on the back, placed in the centre and there is also a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of connectivity, the phone has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. The Tecno Camon i packs a 3050mAh battery.
