HTC introduced the newest member of the One family, the M9+, a larger M9-lookalike with a couple of different features.

The HTC One M9+ features a 5.2-inch Quad HD LCD display (2560×1440), and not a 5.5-inch display, as some rumors suggested. This makes it’s HTC’s second Quid HD device, after the E9+, which was released just a week ago.

Inside the new member we find a different chip when comparing it to the One M9, the M9+ features a 64-bit MediaTek (MT6795T) processor, with eight Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and with integrated LTE, as well as 3GB of RAM.

If you’re looking to the design of the device, it is very similar to the One M9, featuring the same two-tone silver/golden metal and also similar styling. However, it will be easy to spot the One M9+, thanks to two elements on the device: the fingerprint scanner in the speaker at the front and the duo camera on the back.

The fingerprint sensor in the One M9+ is touch based (no more swiping!), though its positioning and especially the Samsung style appearance are a bit questionable. The Duo Camera on the back is comprised out of a 20MP main shooter, along with a secondary depth sensor. The main camera is just like on the One M8 rounded and the depth sensor is also rounded. The front shooter remains a 4MP UltraPixel camera.

HTC hasn’t revealed pricing more availability details, but it is looking like the One M9+ will be exclusively made for China.

The One M9+ still has some details of his little brother left, including the BoomSound speakers at the front and the 2840mAh battery, though the actual battery life will be different due to the other SoC and higher resolution display.
