Taking place at Barcelona, the MWC 2017 was taken off by Blackberry and TCL, with their new phone: KEYone. It’s now LG, walloping it with their new G6 smartphone, which uniquely sports a 5.7-inch display in a 5.2-inch body! But, let’s take a look at LG’s vision for 2017 with their new G6, since the Korea-based company has been struggling lately. In 2016, the brand was left behind in the race by its rivals like Samsung, HTC, and Huawei. Therefore, let’s look at the new LG G6, which brings an edge-to-edge display with curved corners to the table, and if it might be any stronger to go all-in against Samsung’s upcoming S8 or the new iPhone we may see soon.
Though being hyped extravagantly, the LG G6 was obtained tepidly. But, LG seems to have taken a leap forward, for Samsung didn’t plan to debut the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017. Switching back to LG G6, The phone, as expected, carries Google’s latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS, topped by LG’s new UX 6.0. The phone also features a 5.7-inch QHD+ FullVision display, with a narrower and longer 18:9 aspect ratio. LG terms this ratio as ‘Univisium,’ and also expects the media industry to move to 18:9 aspect ratio in the near future.
Apart from that, the LG G6 also comes with dust and water resistance with an IP68 rating. The phone also sports a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC which is capable of enhanced audio playback. What’s more, LG wants to continue with their Dual camera sensor setup on the back, featuring iPhone like optical zoom, which LG claims to be the smoothest. The primary camera is 13-megapixel, bringing 125-degree wide-angle possibility to the table. More details can be located on the spec sheet below.
