OnePlus is coming out with yet another flagship smartphone this year and as you’d expect, there are a host of leaks and rumours around the device. The latest one is regarding its price and is quite unexpected. While we all had accepted the fact that OnePlus will be increasing the price of their upcoming smartphone, this report says otherwise.
TechRadar has a report to share with us all that the OnePlus 5T will be priced the same as the OnePlus 5. The company has been steadily increasing the price of its smartphones over the years and we were expecting the same this time too. The detail is, however, confirmed for the UK only and it might or might not be the case with all the markets the OnePlus 5T will retail in.
The publication got hold of a confidential document from a local carrier O2 that revealed the detail. The report also confirms that the OnePlus 5T will be available in the same storage variant as the current phone – 64GB and 128GB. TechRadar didn’t explicitly mention the price of OnePlus 5T it saw in those documents, but we assume it to be £449 for the 64GB variant and £499 for the 128GB variant, considering the OnePlus 5 was launched in the country at these prices.
Pete Lau, CEO at OnePlus, had recently revealed that the phone would be priced below the $600-mark. This left us wondering if the phone’s price will be bumped up and if it does, then by how much. Now that some new details have surfaced over its pricing, the OnePlus 5T should come sporting a price of $479 for the 64GB variant and $539 for the 128GB one.
OnePlus has scheduled an event in New York on November 16 where the phone is expected to go official. The sales would start a few days later on November 21. We shall know the confirmed pricing details of the phone within a week’s time. In the meanwhile, you can visit us for more details on the phone as and when they’re available.
