Samsung launches Galaxy J2 Ace, Galaxy J1 4G in India

Samsung on Friday has officially launched two brand new small budget smartphones under the J series in India. Named as Galaxy J2 Ace and Galaxy J1 4G, they are two of the cheapest 4G smartphones available in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace is priced at Rs 8,490 and will be available in gold, black and silver color options. Talking about the specifications, the smartphone features a 5 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 540×960 pixels. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. The device runs Android v6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by a 2,600 mAh Li-ion battery, which promises a talk-time of up to 12 hours on 3G network.

Talking about the camera department, the Galaxy J2 Ace sports an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Both the front and back cameras feature f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It is a dual SIM enabled smartphone offering connectivity options including 4G VoLTE + VoLTE HD, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS / A-GPS, and GLONASS.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 4G, on the other hand, features a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display with 480×800 resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz SC7727SE quad-core processor coupled with Mali-400 GPU. The device has 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and expandable memory of 128GB via microSD slot. It runs on older Android v5.1 Lollipop and is backed by 2050 mAh battery that claims 12+ hours of talk-time on 3G network.

The Galaxy J1 Ace flaunts a 5MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and an LED flash. On the front, it has a 2MP camera with f/2.2 lens. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 4G LTE with VoLTE and VoLTE HD, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. The device is priced at Rs 6,890 in India.

Interestingly, both the phones come with Ultra Data Saving ( UDS ) mode with data compression feature, allowing users to save up to 50% on mobile data. Other features include S bike Mode, and S Power Planning that offers uninterrupted riding for bikers, and efficient power planning respectively.
