Apple iPhone 8 launch is just around the corner and we already have a lot of information about the device. Like the case has always been, this year’s iPhone has also been subjected to a number of leaks and rumours. Here are all the rumours compiled for you to know before Apple makes the phone official.

As you’d know by now that the iPhone 8 is going to be the tenth anniversary iPhone that will be announced within a couple of weeks. That’s the reason Apple has planned so many significant changes for the phone ranging from the design, display and to the Touch ID.

Starting with the most prominent feature of the phone, which is the display. The iPhone has been long criticised for sporting thick bezels all around the display and Apple has now decided to act upon it. The iPhone 8 designs have leaked a massive number of times to show an edge-to-edge display with a cut out on top to sport the important sensors. It would be the first iPhone to come with an OLED panel and Apple might bring a higher resolution one this time.

That cut out won’t be sporting just the usual sensors, Apple is bringing new stuff there too. The company has been rumoured to take facial recognition a step ahead and incorporate 3D facial scanning system. Unlike the 2D technology used today, that can be easily duped by showing a picture, the Apple’s version of facial recognition is supposed to be more secure. Apple is so sure about this tech that it is rumoured to get rid of the Touch ID sensor, which introduced fingerprint scanners to the smartphone industry.

Though the overall outline of the phone is expected to remain the same as its current counterpart, there will be some subtle upgrades. The iPhone 8 will sport a sandwich design with a metal frame packed between layers of glass on the front and back. This isn’t a random design choice but to incorporate wireless charging that can’t work on a metal back.

Apple has made some bold changes to the 2017 iPhone to not only make it better than the competition but also the previous iPhones. And if wouldn’t have guessed it already, the pricing of the phone will also get some of this boldness. The iPhone 8 is rumoured to start at a price of $850, higher than the usual $650 price. This will only be confirmed when Apple makes the phone official. Apple has scheduled an event for the September 12 which seems too far considering how excited the tech fraternity is.
