Xiaomi Launching Mi 8 to Celebrate its 8th Anniversary

Founded in 2010, the leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has made its name amongst the top in the industry in the span of the last 8 years. In order to make this occasion special, the company probably has plans of launching a Xiaomi Mi 8 Anniversary edition phone, rendering excitement for the Xiaomi fans out there.

Current leaks and rumors have suggested continuously that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be rebranded as the Mi 8 Anniversary edition on Xiaomi’s 8th anniversary, for the number 8 is deemed as the lucky number in China.

Another few leaked images have been floating around on Weibo, a popular Chinese social network website known as Weibo. Unconfirmed officially, these images seem to be launch teasers claiming that the phone might sport a SnapDragon 845 processor, which is the current best from Qualcomm in the market. The upcoming Xiaomi device(s) will be announced officially on May 23 and the pre-orders will start from May 27. The invite also claims that some lucky fans will get to win one of the 100 Xiaomi Mi 7 or Mi 8 phones.

Coming to the leaked specifications, the device is rumored to have a Snapdragon 845 processor, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The device might sport a Dual 16-megapixel camera setup and a huge 4,480 mAh battery. It will come with an under display fingerprint scanner as per previous reports, and some sort of face recognition technology. On the software end, the phone(s) might come preloaded with MIUI 9 8.5.2. Moreover, these devices from Xiaomi will maintain the 2018 bezelless-notch factor trending in the market. Lastly, there are also leaks of a more powerful version, similar to the Mi Mix 2S configuration, that might launch alongside or later.
