While the OnePlus 3 is expected to be officially announced by the end of this month, today we have some interesting leaks that shows a possible redesign with a metal body instead of the typical sandstone texture we had on the One and Two. They look completely different from its ancestors and rather looks like a phone made by HTC.

We’ve had some leaks relating to the specs of this device but this time we get to see the full body, although we’re not quite sure if its actually the one getting announced in a few weeks time. It looks like it’ll sport a full metal body with curved edges and of course an antenna band to allow radio signals pass through it. The button on the front is almost 100% a fingerprint scanner as we’ve already gotten it on the OnePlus 2 and it makes no sense to remove it.

OnePlus 3 Leaks - Front

Looking actually inside in terms of software, its got something really sketchy. While the current Oxygen OS is based off of Android M, the picture shows the phone having Oxygen OS 3 but based on Adroid Lollipop. Another thing that we can notice is that its code named RAIN A3000 which makes it seem a little more legit.

OnePlus 3 Leaks -Software

Besides today’s leaks, The OnePlus 3 is expected to be announced with a 5.5-inch Full HD display like its predecessors, plus a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

OnePlus is a pretty renowned brand and up to date with software updates so it’ll most probably ship with Android N and not Lollipop like the pictures suggest.

So yeah, while the leaked pictures do look compelling, ditching the ever so popular sandstone back and the sketchy OS details still makes us wonder whether its completely true or not. It could just be a Huawei phone judging by the build so until we don’t see a OnePlus logo at the back, we could just conclude that all of these leaks are fake.

Nevertheless, we don’t have too long to wait as the phone’s expected to be announced around the end of this month and will most probably start shipping out by the fie first or second week of June.
