After quite a lot of teasing, Honor has finally announced the Honor 9 Lite here in India. It is a budget-oriented smartphone that brings a bunch of new features for the lower-end segment. The phone comes with dual cameras both on the front and the back, an 18:9 display, and runs Android Oreo out-of-box. All of these features are probably a first for the budget smartphones that generally get the newest features at last.

Today, the Honor 9 Lite was announced at an event in New Delhi where the company revealed all the features and price of the phone. Starting with the display, you’ll find a 5.65-inch FullView display in the newer 18:9 fashion and it has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 along with a 2.5D glass on top. As mentioned above, the phone would come running EMUI 8.0 over Android 8.0 Oreo right from the first boot.

While the phone would be powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU, there will be two RAM and storage variants – 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. For the camera, there is 13MP f/2.0 primary camera along with a 2MP secondary camera on the back, and a similar setup is also present on the front. The fingerprint sensor will sit on the back where your index finger would naturally rest.

The Honor 9 Lite is a 4G enabled phone that supports VoLTE via its hybrid dual-SIM card slots. It has a battery capacity of 3000mAh that can be recharged within 2 hours and 20 minutes. The phone has a micro-USB port for charging and data syncing and it also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
