The LG G6 is the latest flagship offering from LG was announced at MWC 2017, wherein LG covered up for Samsung’s absence, with the LG G6’s announcement. But soon after the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus being launched in India, the LG G6 also makes its way to the tech-frenzy country, to compete alongside Samsung’s flagship handouts. The new LG G6 will be sold exclusively on Amazon India (Amazon.in), and can also be availed through offline stores commencing today – 25th April 2017. The phone has been available for pre-orders since the past couple of days on LG’s website, and consumers who availed the phone under pre-orders are supposed to receive a Rs.7,000 Cashback and a reduction on the LGTone Active+ HBS wireless headset. These offers can also be availed by purchasing the phone on Amazon. Also, LG is providing pre-orderers with “EA special gifts” for six Android games: Temple Run, Cookie Jam, etc., totaling up to Rs.14,100 worth goodies.

The LG G6 brings the Snapdragon 821 octa-core chipset, backed by a 4GB RAM. Apart from that, the phone clads a covering of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well as the back. Talking of the screen, the phone features a QHD+ (1440×2880 pixels) FullVision display with a new aspect ratio of 18:9, overlayed by an almost bezel-less screen. On the camera side, the phone features a dual camera setup on the back featuring two 13-megapixel sensors, the main one featuring a 71-degree lens, with an f/1.8 aperture, and the second one featuring a 180-degree lens and an f/2.4 aperture for wide-angeled photos. The LG G6 also features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a 100-degree wide lens. Furthermore, the Indian variant features a 64GB internal storage with support to 2TB Micro-SD card expansion, while the official LG G6 announcement at MWC 2017 also featured a 32GB version. Other than that, the phone is also 4G compatible and features an IP68 water and dust resistance like its contender the Galaxy S8. We covered specifications and other factors in detail on our MWC 2017 LG G6 announcement, click here to check it out.

The phone comes in at a price tag of Rs. 51,990, right below the Samsung’s Galaxy S8, which is priced at 57,900. Although the phones sound almost on-the-line with the Galaxy S8, it is essential to notice the year old processor the G6 packs. The Snapdragon 820 is no match against the Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 that the Samsung’s offerings feature. Although, this is not to say the Snapdragon 820 is bad, but it is still a skipped stone for a 2017 flagship.
