After being in the news for a while, LG has finally launched their AI smartphone on Wednesday at an event in New York. The brand unveiled two smartphones – LG G7 ThinQ and LG G7+ ThinQ. Both of these smartphones come with AI camera, refreshed design, Facial Recognition and much more.

LG G7 is equipped with the latest specifications, interesting camera improvements and amazing audio features. LG has one of the best premium flagship smartphones in the G series. The successor of LG G6 is not an exception here. Let’s have a look at the specifications right away.

LG G7 ThinQ First Impressions:

LG G7 ThinQ and LG G7+ ThinQ features and specifications

LG G7 ThinQ comes with large 6.1-inch QHD+ FullVision display, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and notch based design. The LCD display used in this device has a resolution of 3120×1440 which is Super Bright thanks to the 1000 nits brightness. This smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU. This flagship device comes in two variants – LG G7 ThinQ having 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and LG G7+ ThinQ which comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Both of the variants supports MicroSD expansion up to 2TB.

Talking about camera, LG G7 has two camera sensors at the back. A 16MP super wide angle camera sensor having f/1.9 aperture and a 107-degree wide angle lens. There’s another 16MP secondary sensor with f/1.6 aperture and 71-degree field view. Both of these smartphones have AI cameras which analysis subjects in the photo and suggest how you can improve the image. There is a Super Bright camera mode which lets you click perfect images even in the darker conditions. There is an 8MP Wide Angle front camera with f/1.9 aperture and  80° field view.

LG G7 runs on the brand’s very own custom UI ( LG UX 6.0 ) on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. It has 3,000 mAh battery capacity, face recognition, USB type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On top of that, the device supports wireless charging and it comes with Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 technology

One of the great addition to this device is the audio capabilities. The smartphone has a “Boombox Speaker” which uses inner space as a resonance chamber to amplify the sound. This feature delivers a premium, high-quality, loud and room-filling audio experience. And believe me, this works like a charm. There is a Super Far-Field Voice recognition in this smartphone. With the help of these, your phone can now pick your voice even from a further distance. It easily recognizes your voice even in noisy places.

There is a fingerprint sensor at the back of the device. The volume and power buttons are on the left and right-hand sides of the device. The phone is also water and dust-resistant.

A dedicated Google Assistant/Lens button

Another key feature of this flagship device has to be this dedicated button which is sitting just below the volume rockers. You can access Google Assistant as well as Google Lens with the help of this physical button. Tap once to activate Google Assistant, tap twice to use Google Lens while holding down the button fires up instant conversations with Google Assistant.
