A new gaming smartphone from Xiaomi has been spotted on AnTuTu bearing the latest hardware from 2018. Codenamed “Blackshark”, the phone might launch under the company’s sub-brand with the same name which was incorporated by Xiaomi to bring devices designed specifically for gaming. Besides the AnTuTu listing, Blackshark’s website showcases an image giving us a peek at the mysterious device.

Going by its AnTuTu listing, the phone has been named Blackshark, which may be a temporary affair until it gets an open market moniker. The phone boasts a beefy Snapdragon 845 processor that comes coupled with Adreno 630, as per the listing. For qualifying as a gaming smartphone, Xiaomi had to include the best processor currently available in the market, along with an 8GB of RAM. It is worth noting that the internal storage of the Blackshark is mere 32GB, which wouldn’t at all be in line with users’ requirements in 2018.

For the display, an FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels has been mentioned, which means the handset should have an 18:9 display with thinner overall bezels. It is listed with Android 8.0 (Oreo) onboard. Coming to the benchmark score, the phone scored 270,680 points, which is exactly what we can now expect from a phone sporting the top-end offering from Qualcomm and also based on the previously leaked benchmark results of the processor.

The only other smartphone claiming itself to be designed for mobile phone gaming is the Razer Phone, that, too, offers some of the best specifications based on current standards. It comes with a 120Hz display and a pair of powerful speakers giving it an edge over other smartphones when it comes to gaming. The phone was the Razer’s first attempt in the smartphone category, a company which is better known for its gaming computers.
