Smartphones companies are trying to achieve what we are watching in the Sci-fi movies and somewhat they are reaching there with some astonishing products. If you’re not aware, Samsung is currently working on a new foldable smartphone, that some of the South Korean company’s fans will not believe before seeing the final product with the eyes.

We’ve been hearing about the Samsung’s foldable smartphone for a long time now but now it seems like that moment might arrive soon. Samsung initially started working on this with a project which goes by the name of “Project V” internally.

Initial development of foldable smartphone – Project V

Samsung Galaxy X

Recently, a Chinese tech nark @MMDDJ_ posted some of the pics of a Samsung branded foldable smartphone which the brand was initially working on. Apart from this, he further added that the device had a codename SM-G929F and is now canceled. The reason for this cancellation was not mentioned.

The concept of an initial foldable phone was basically a device having two screens attached to each other. As you can see in the image, one part of the phone is a fully working smartphone with a screen while the other one is just a thin display. The idea here is pretty impressive but looks quite similar to ZTE’s Axon M.

Since the Project V is canceled, it seems like the brand is working on something different which might change the entire smartphone industry.

Samsung Galaxy X “the foldable phone” might launch next year

As we’re already aware of the fact that the Samsung might announce their foldable smartphone on its 10th anniversary.  It seems like the smartphone maker is planning to do something out of the blue.  It could be even possible that company would try to amalgamate it into the upcoming Galaxy phone and would make a killer flagship.

But from the picture, it is pretty clear that company is working on foldable display if not Project V but something else. It could also be possible that after aborting the project V the brand started working on a whole new design of their folding phone.

Apart from Samsung, Motorola is another smartphone company which is working on their version of the foldable device. The Lenovo owned company previously got their patent approved by World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).  According to the patent, Motorola’s version consists of a rectangular screen which you can fold to use it as a smartphone.

No doubt, there is some pretty interesting stuff in stores for us. The year 2019 might be the year when the smartphone industry will truly be revolutionized.
