When Nokia announced that they would be re-launching their most popular and one of the world’s best-selling mobile phone, the Nokia 3310, everyone including me went nuts about it, thinking of recreating the old memories playing our all-time favorite game – “The Snake” on the indestructible device. But, the old Nokia 3310 with an era old features is not something Nokia has in store for us.
According to the Chinese website Vtechgraphy, the upcoming Nokia 3310 will sport a color display, replacing the old monochrome screen. The display, however, will be simplified to extend the battery life of the device.
Few more Nokia 3310 deets:
-runs Series 30+ w color scrn
-multiple colors, faceplates poss. swappable
– think: mashup of old 3310 & new 150.— Evan Blass (@evleaks) February 24, 2017
A few minutes ago, popular mobile phone tipster, Evan Blass (@evleaks), tweeted out more details about the new 3310. According to him, the device will run the good old Series 30+ OS, the one we’ve seen running on phones including Nokia 108 (2013), Nokia 220 (220), Nokia 225 (2014), Nokia 130 (2014), Nokia 215 (2015), Nokia 216 (2016) and many more. We’ve also seen the same OS on the Nokia 150, manufactured by HMD Global, the new home of Nokia.
The Nokia 3310 (2017) is expected to come in multiple color options, and the users will get an added advantage to swap the faceplates. To have a better idea about the future phone, Evan suggests we imagine a mashup of the original Nokia 3310 with the recently launched Nokia 150.
