The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 event is just weeks away and with the lineup Nokia is ready to unveil, its surely going to be one massive event. Amidst that, HMD Global has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 (2017). For the past few months, Nokia has been rolling out the Oreo update for the Nokia 8, Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7.
HMD Global Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas announced the update on Twitter. Sarvikas also said that the roll-out will be delivered to the devices slowly and in phases. The update comes in the form of OTA and the file size of the update is around 1.8GB. The latest update takes the version of the device to 5.220.
Juho Sarvikas had teased that the update was under process and all the devices will receive it by the end of January 2018 and I guess he stuck to his word. The latest update brings in some amazing features such as the Notification dots, Picture-in-Picture mode, Faster boot up and etc. Users can check if they’ve received the update manually by going to Settings > System > Check for Update. According to some rumours, the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are also confirmed to review Android P.
