Samsung’s Galaxy A series targets the upper mid-range segment of the market and the last entrants to the series were the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018). With the latest leak, it seems that the company might add two new devices to the series and position them below the said A8 lineup. The devices have been spotted on Geekbench with model numbers SM-A600FN and SM-A605G, which could possibly bear the open market names Galaxy A6 (2018) and Galaxy A6+ (2018).

In the past few years, Samsung had announced an extensive array of devices for its A series comprising the lower end Galaxy A3 and going all the way up to Galaxy A9. The Galaxy A8+ (2018) launched this year only catered the upper mid-range segment but a void was left between the company’s J series and the A series for 2018. With the introduction of the Galaxy A6 duo, Samsung will be able to fill the gap.

The SM-A600FN, which is being referred to as Galaxy A6 here, sports an Exynos 7870 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. This is obviously the lower end device of the two with it featuring a processor seen in the J series devices from last year. The Galaxy A6+, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor that is paired with 4GB of RAM. The model numbers mentioned in their respective listing belong to different regions, hence the different processor makes. Both of them come running Android 8.0 Oreo, while the Galaxy A8+ was launched with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Since the famed Infinity Display has already made its way to the Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018), the chances are high that Samsung may also include it in the Galaxy A6 series devices. Though not curved at the edges, the Infinity Display on the Galaxy A8+ features a taller aspect ratio with thinner bezels, especially on the top and bottom, leaving the fingerprint scanner to be placed on the back.

Dual cameras in Samsung devices are still exclusive to a couple of flagship models and it is unlikely for them to move to the mid-range segment anytime soon. Though, the Galaxy A8+ came with dual selfie cameras, so that could be a possibility here. With the devices already being benchmarked, Samsung might be in the testing phase and we can see them officially launch in the coming weeks.
