Till now, almost nothing was known regarding the development work Motorola Mobility and Lenovo were doing to introduce the next generation of Moto smartphones. But now suddenly out of nowhere we have got the visuals of all their phones, from different lineups starting from the budget Moto E-series to the flagship Moto Z-series, that will be launched in 2018. As of now, apart from the images, some details regarding the specifications are also known.

Moto E5

The budget Moto E-series lineup will soon have the Moto E5, which will succeed the popular E4 and E4 Plus. Indian price comparison website MySmartPrice showed a render of the alleged Moto E5 a couple of days back. The Moto E5 seems to house the fingerprint sensor on the back, while till now the fingerprint sensor used to be on the front, right below the display.

Another interesting thing is that probably the fingerprint sensor is now embedded into the Motorola dimple just below the camera module. In terms of design, it still looks like the Moto E4 and houses a front flash for low light selfies. It is expected that Moto E5 will be in the same price segment where the E4 is and should come along with some improvements when compared to the previous generation.

Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play

The Moto G-series is also getting refreshed with Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play. Some details of these phone were also leaked via promotional images. The Moto G6 series will now come with a 3D glass on the back and the G6 will ship with the Snapdragon 450 chipset on board, 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. While the G6 Plus will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, coupled with 6GB RAM. The Moto G6 will come with a full HD+ (2160 x 1080) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and the larger variant, the G6 Plus will come with a bigger 5.93-inch display with the same resolution.

In terms of camera, both the Moto G6 and the G6 Plus will have a 12 MP+5 MP dual rear camera setup on the back and a 16 MP front-facing camera for selfies. The Moto G6 will pack a 3,000 mAh battery, while the G6 Plus will have a slightly bigger 3,200 mAh battery. In terms of specs, the Moto G6 Play will be having just a 5.7-inch 720p display and will pack a huge 4,000mAh battery.

All the models from Moto G6 Series will come with a fingerprint scanner on the front, except the Moto G6 Play, which will have it on the back, like the Moto E5 is expected to. The Moto G6 will be offered in Black, Silver, and Rose Gold colours while the G6 Plus will come in Deep Indigo, Nimbus, and Dark Lake and the G6 Play’s hues will be Dark Charcoal, Gold, and Deep Blue.

Moto X5

The next is Moto X-series. Looks like Motorola is trying to experiment a lot with the Moto X. We can see a whitish software button which might work for all navigation-related stuff, just like iPhone X. The notch on the top also seems inspired by the Apple iPhone X. Also, we’re still now sure where the fingerprint scanner is. If it’s hidden under the Motorola logo on the back, it’s good, and it would be even better if Motorola could succeed in embedding the fingerprint scanner under the display, just like the Vivo X20.

In terms of specifications, the Moto X5 is said to come with a 5.9-inch full HD+ (2160 x 1080) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. There is mention of ‘Moto’s Smart Ai’, but nothing else is known like what it will do, how it will make the experience better. There are dual camera setup on both the front and the back, though no details regarding the sensors are known at this moment. One last thing, “Motorola” branding is likely to be back as it is placed under the display on the front, instead of the “Moto” branding.

Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play

Yes, the Moto Z3 and Z3 Play will also arrive later this year and Motorola seems to be concerned about the design a lot as we can see from the renders of the alleged Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play. The Moto Z3 seems to have very thin bezels, and some sources also say that we may see a dual curved display as well on the Moto Z3, like the Samsung flagships had for long.

Till now, nothing much is known about the specifications of Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play. However, according to Droid-life, both the Z3 and Z3 Play will sport a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The publication has claimed that there will be a third Moto Z3 variant as well, with solid hardware like a Snapdragon 845 processor and a 2K display or higher.

Just like the Moto X5, there is no fingerprint scanner visible so Motorola might be embedding the scanner under the display or maybe it may be hidden under the Motorola logo below the rear camera module.

These are some of the things we know right now about the upcoming smartphones from Motorola and it looks like Motorola is really giving an overhaul to the smartphone design while adding more robust hardware to their phones. We will be keep you updated about the devices as soon as any new information surfaces, stay tuned with TrueTech for more updates, leak, and news regarding the Motorola smartphones!
