Sony Xperia XZ2 is one of the hottest smartphone series launching at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 next week. Sony was earlier expected to announce three flagship class smartphones at the event, however, a few images of two of those devices have leaked. These images show the phones from all their sides and the colour options that will be available in.

The images are of the alleged Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact and have been provided by Evan Blass, who had leaked a few similar images a couple of days back. Like it was earlier rumoured, Sony has made some radical changes to the phones’ design language, doing away with its OmniBalance design that has been around for around half a decade. The front of both the phones has got a new display in 18:9 aspect ratio while the back seemingly has a slightly curved design to give a better grip.

Unlike previous reports, neither of the two phones have dual cameras on their back. The camera module on the device, which is probably the Xperia XZ2, has been moved further down with the flash and other sensors placed vertically on its top and the fingerprint scanner below it. While on the other phone, which could be the Xperia XZ2 Compact, the camera module sits towards the top with the flash and sensors besides it and the fingerprint scanner below it.

Going by the images, the Xperia XZ2 will have a glossy finish with silver, black, teal, and pink colours options. The Xperia XZ2 Compact, on the other hand, will have the silver and black colour options, but the other two will be replaced with green and orange with a matte finish. Wireless charging will also be baked into these two phones from Sony and Blass even shared the image of the charging dock on his Twitter account (included above).

Older leaks and rumours had suggested that the Xperia XZ2 will come running the Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The phone may have a 5.7-inch FHD+ display in 18:9 aspect ratio along with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The Xperia XZ2 Compact will possibly share the specs sheet but will have a smaller display at 5 inches in the same 18:9 form factor. Sony is about to announce the devices in a couple of days at MWC 2018.
