Samsung is probably expanding the Galaxy J Series as a new smartphone with the model number SM-J720F has been spotted on GFXBench and Geekbench benchmarks. The benchmarks basically reveal the most of the specs of the new phone, which could be the Samsung Galaxy J8 (2018).  The specifications of the phone include a 5.5-inch HD screen, Exynos 7885 14nm octa-core SoC and also, the phone seems to be running the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.

From the benchmarks and the Exynos 7885, we can see that it is the exact same chip that powers the new Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ (2018). The GFXBench listing also mentions a 12-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera which might be underwhelming for many as the earlier smartphones from the series had a 13-megapixel selfie camera. The listing has now been taken down.

However, SamMobile says that there might be a chance of having a dual-camera setup on the front as Exynos 7885 powered Galaxy A8 (2018) has a 16MP+8MP selfie camera setup and this particular Exynos chip is capable of powering it. However, there are still questions regarding the display as the GFXBench mentions only an HD display, which seems to be a downgrade. But there are possibilities that the Galaxy J8 (2018) may come with a full HD display.

Apart from this, the phone seems to have 32GB ROM from which 23GB will be available for the user and as per GeekBench, there is 3724 MB of RAM so the phone will come with 4GB RAM. Another thing here is that the phone will be running Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, with of course, Samsung Experience on top. So, here’s the Galaxy J8 (2018) specs as per the rumours and these benchmarks suggest.
