Two weeks ago a leak, which came all the way from FCC, suggested that a device with the model number SM-J720F could be in works. According to the previous reports, the device is most certainly the rumoured mid-range Samsung device Galaxy J7 Duo. The model number of the yesteryear’s Galaxy J7 (SM-J730F) is different from the alleged Galaxy J7 Duo, which is expected to be a mid-ranger and will be positioned between the Galaxy J7 (2017) and the Galaxy J7 Pro.

A user manual for the SM-J720F was uploaded on Samsung’s website which revealed quite a bit about the device including the part where it suggests the presence of a dual-camera setup, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since it’s more of a necessity now. The Galaxy J7+ was launched earlier in some of the Asian markets and if the alleged Galaxy J7 Duo shares some similarities with it then we can expect the cameras to sport a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel sensor with some unique features including live focus mode.

The Galaxy J7 Duo might be powered by a lower clocked version of the Exynos 7884. The manual hints at a removable yet decent battery. It is hard for companies to include removable batteries at this time when non-removable batteries have been well accepted by the audience. More rumours suggest that the device might sport a 5.5-inch 720p display, although, it’s not yet confirmed whether the device will sport a bezel-less design like other smartphones of this age but it’s highly unlikely.

The device will most probably be powered by the Exynos 7884 which will be coupled along with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The front camera is expected to be an 8-megapixel shooter with a front facing flash. A fingerprint sensor is expected to be placed at the front unless we see a bezel-less model which will make it shift towards the rear just like on the Galaxy S9. The Galaxy J7 Duo will most probably run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Surprisingly, the manual shows a new addition to the Galaxy J7 Duo which is regarding Bixby-enabled features. The device will be the first ever mid-range device form the company to feature Bixby smart voice assistant. The leaked images do not show a physical button for Bixby and hence it shall feature only Bixby Home and Bixby Reminder.
