MWC Barcelona is a month away and already we are looking at some confirmed leaks regarding the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. The latest report about the Galaxy S9 and S9+ comes from South Korea that contains in-depth details about the cameras on both the upcoming Galaxy devices. Earlier reports had already confirmed that the Galaxy S9-series will come with different camera configurations.

Now, as we all know that the Galaxy S9 will come with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS and the Galaxy S9+ will come with a dual-camera setup having two 12MP sensors. But the interesting thing about the cameras is that they include two aperture values that can be adjusted to allow for more or less light entering the lens. This latest report claims that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will sport cameras with the highest level of lens brightness of f/1.5. The LG V30 is the only phone right now, which is quite close to this with F/1.6 aperture.

So, the Galaxy S9 will feature a variable aperture of f1.5/f2.4 and it will work just like a DSLR camera, which will allow users to adjust the aperture before taking a shot. This is something we have seen earlier, too, as Samsung provided the same on W2018, which was launched in China last year.

On the Samsung Galaxy S9+ the story is a bit different. Both the cameras on the Galaxy S9+ will come with different apertures: f/1.5 and f/2.4. But the main advantage here is that the Galaxy S9+ can take a picture using both cameras at the same time, which is another advantage along with wide-angle images and zooming into the subject. It is also expected that the cameras will be capable of shooting ultra slow-mo videos at 960fps, probably for the second time on a modern consumer smartphone after Xperia XZ Premium.

In case of the front-facing camera, both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will come with an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and iris recognition.

Apart from cameras, the report also reveals the display sizes Galaxy S9 and S9+ will sport. It says that the Samsung Galaxy S9 should feature a 5.77-inch display, whereas the Galaxy S9+ would come with a larger 6.22-inch screen. In terms of RAM, the Galaxy S9 will come with 4GB of RAM whereas the Galaxy S9+ will come with 6GB of RAM. The Galaxy S9 will pack a 3,000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S9+ will pack a larger 3,500 mAh battery inside.
