Samsung is rumoured to release the Galaxy Note 8 sometime in August and this leak could be the biggest one we have got our hands on before the phone’s launch. The renders of the Note 8 have leaked in a video and they show how the phone would exactly look like from all its sides.

The renders have been provided by @OneLeaks and @91Mobiles and were reported by Evan Blass via VentureBeat. Blass is known all over the industry for reliable leaks about smartphones that have almost always turned out to be true. He is better known by his Twitter handle @evleaks.

As you can see in the images, the front has a similar setup as the Galaxy S8 series, but the Note 8 seems to have a more rectangular profile overall. A Bixby button can also be seen below the volume rockers. The back of the phone is where the major changes can be seen.

There is one large rectangular portion protruding from the back of the phone that houses both the cameras, LED flash, heart rate sensor, and the fingerprint scanner. Yes, we did say “both the cameras”! The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be the first Samsung phone to sport dual camera setup that many of the recent smartphones have been touting.

No detail of the camera system is available yet, but we expect Samsung to include similar features that the iPhone 7 Plus and the more recent OnePlus 5 have been providing, like 2X lossless zoom and DSLR-like bokeh effect.

Another thing to note is the fingerprint scanner which still sits on the back in an awkward position. Just like the Galaxy S8 series, particularly the larger Galaxy S8+, the fingerprint scanner is not centred and is placed on the right side of the camera. The size of the phone makes it harder for your index finger to reach that far and even if you manage to reach there, your finger will most probably hit the camera lens making it smudgy.

Prior to the launch of the Galaxy S8, some reports suggested that Samsung wasn’t able to develop the tech that could help them place the scanner below the display. It seems that the tech is still giving Samsung some sleepless nights and it has still not been able to finalise it to be implanted on their flagship device.

As far as rumoured specifications of the Galaxy Note 8 are concerned, the phone will come with a 6.33-inch AMOLED QHD Infinity Display with thin bezels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It is expected to be the first device to come running the Snapdragon 836, while the RAM capacity is said to be 6GB. The price of the Note 8 is expected to be slightly higher than the currently available smartphones.
