The technology world has recently witnessed a few waves of trends. First, it was of dual cameras and now the trend of including an 18:9 display is catching up. Vivo is the newest brand to come out with a smartphone that has an elongated display. The Vivo V7+ is supposed to be a budget device sporting this kind of display but its price says otherwise.
Going with the trend of 18:9 displays, Vivo today announced the V7+ in India that comes with a large 5.99-inch FullView display with a resolution of 1440 x 720. Even though the phone comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4%, the display, despite its giant size, comes with a 720p resolution which is just too old for a 2017 smartphone.
Vivo is placing this product as a selfie phone and has included a 24MP camera on the front for taking sharper selfies. It also comes along with an LED flash apart from some software enhancement features like Face Beauty 7.0 and Portrait mode. The camera unit on the back can click 16MP photos and has PDAF and an LED flash.
On the software front, the phone runs the Android 7.1.2 Nougat with FuntouchOS 3.2 that comes with some Vivo’s proprietary features. The fingerprint scanner sits on the back of the device and the Vivo V7+ supports dual SIM cards and also has a dedicated microSD card slot. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The battery capacity of the phone is 3225mAh.
The company will make the phone available in Champagne Gold and Matte Black colour options for a price of Rs. 21,990. The Vivo V7+ will be available starting September 15th from Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail stores. It will be up for pre-orders until September 14 and will come with free screen replacement. It will be great to see how this device sells with the price tag it carries in a such a price conscious market.
