Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 detailed specifications leaked on 3C certification website

Xiaomi has received an overwhelming response from the people for its Redmi Note 4. Recently, there have been some leaks and rumours about the successor to the Note 4. Redmi Note 5 was recently spotted on the Chinese 3C certification site and apparently, the specs of the device were leaked. Two models were listed on the website and they were referred to as “MEE7S” and “MET7S”. According to some reports, Xiaomi was planning on launching Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Plus, so each one of them might take these model numbers.

Latest reports about the above-mentioned devices come from MyDrivers, who claim that the Redmi Note 5 has been certified in China by 3C. According to the listing, the phone will be launched in two variants – one with the Snapdragon 630 and the other one with Snapdragon 636 processor.

There hasn’t been an official announcement on the launch of the aforementioned devices but going by the rumours, the Redmi Note 5 will sport a 5.9-inch full HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels. It’s most probably gonna carry on with the 18:9 aspect ratio, like the recently announced Redmi 5-series did. The Snapdragon 630 variant will pack in 3GB RAM coupled along with 32GB storage and the Snapdragon 636 variant is rumoured to have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

The cameras on the Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel shooter and a 5-megapixel sensor. The front camera will be an 8-megapixel sensor for crisp selfies. The Note 5 will most probably come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. In terms of pricing, the two devices are priced at 1499 Yuan (approximately 15, 000) for the budget variant and 1799 Yuan (approximately 18,000) for the high-end model.

As for the release date, reports have claimed that the Redmi 5 Plus which was previously launched in China is gonna be rebranded to Redmi Note 5 for India. Since there has been no official announcement, let’s take these rumours lightly. A lot of expectations for the company to launch the Redmi Note 5 at the MWC 2018 event which will be held in Barcelona next month.
