Huawei is a Chinese smartphone brand trying to up its game by introducing smartphones with aggressively low pricing for great specifications. The brand today revealed the future plans of their smartphone lineup which consists of a foldable and a gaming smartphone.

The brand’s Consumer Business President Jim Xu announced that the upcoming gaming smartphone is in the works and will launch later this year. There is no information related to specs, pricing, and availability of this upcoming beast. One thing which we can expect from this device is brand’s latest GPU Turbo technology. With this tech, Huawei will be able to increase device performance by 60% while reducing power use by 30%. Looking at this tech, it’s obvious that their next gaming smartphone is going to equipped with it.

If you’re not aware, the GPU Turbo tech is already present in Honor 9i and soon will be available for various other Huawei as well as Honor devices. Stepping foot in the gaming segment, Huawei will face Razer phone as well Asus’s upcoming ROG smartphone. All we have to do is wait and see whether the brand is able to shake the market with it.

Speaking of a foldable smartphone, only one brand comes up in our brand and that is Samsung. This is the only brand which is officially working on a foldable smartphone yet. Jim Xu, in his interview, also added that the brand is working on a foldable smartphone. The Huawei version of a foldable smartphone is going to arrive in the market somewhere in the year 2019. Again, he didn’t reveal any specific details about it. It seems like the year 2019 is going to be the year of a foldable smartphone.

When asked about moving mechanical parts as seen in Vivo Nex and Oppo Find X, the brand clearly gave a big NO. So far, Huawei has some exciting stuff in stores for us. What do you guys think about these two upcoming smartphones?
