Brooklyn Nine-Nine premiered in 2013 and quickly has become one of the most popular sitcoms in the industry. With its amazing cast, impeccable cold opens, and heartfelt stories, the TV series has a lot to offer. Recently, NBC has announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 will be the last season for the beloved sitcom. The premiere episodes of the latest season will air on Thursday, August 12 on NBC at 8 PM EST. Recently, during the world premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy, Terry Crews, the actor who plays Lieutenant Terry Jeffords on the sitcom chatted with ET‘s Lauren Zima.

When Crews was asked what’s gonna happen with the final season of Brooklyn Nine Nine? he replied “It’s going to be intense, it’s going to be lovely, it’s gonna be fun. We’ve been in tears because we finished it. It’s been eight seasons of joy.” Crews further added that “You’re gonna laugh your head off” with a smile and has also revealed that the last season will feature “a lot of unexpected wonderful things” and he feels it’s “literally the perfect-perfect way to end it.”

As mentioned earlier, Season 8 will air on August 12 with two back-to-back episodes and the remaining ones will air one episode at a time every Thursday. According to Variety, all the main cast members are set to return to say “Nine-Nine” for one last time! The cast includes Andy Samberg (Jake Peralta), Mellisa Fumero (Amy Santiago), Andre Braugher (Captain Raymond Holt), Joe Lo Truglio (Charles Boyle), Stephanie Beatrix (Rosa Diaz), Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords),  Joel McKinnon Miller (Norm Scully), and Dirk Blocker (Michael Hitchcock). Chelsea Peretti (Gina Linetti) is expected to return make a comeback for the final season, but details around that are pretty scarce for now!

It is worth noting that the last season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be the shortest consisting of only 10 episodes. To recall, Season 7 of the NBC sitcom has 13 episodes. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the Season 8 of the series was originally scheduled to premiere a year earlier, but the production was delayed due to health concerns in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
