Nokia G20 arrives back in April 2021 and now, Nokia has released a sequel to the device dubbed as Nokia G21. The phone brings a few changes albeit there are no upgrades onboard so Nokia is now playing on design rather than other specifications. Nokia G21 has launched officially and here’s more about it.

The Nokia G21 is official with its price tag of EUR170. You can choose between Dusk and Nordic Blue colorways. Nokia G21 has arrived at EUR10 pricier than the predecessor. There’s a 10W charging tech which is standard. With that, you get the usual stuff, the USB cable, headset, jelly case, and a screen protector. Plus, Nokia G21 is built using 100percent recycled materials.

Nokia G21 arrives with a 6.5-inch 90Hz IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop-shaped notch. There’s a 90Hz refresh rate which is a major upgrade over last year’s Nokia G20 that had a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Plus, the screen can stream Netflix at up to HD resolution so that’s a first for the series as well.
Moving on, the Nokia G21 packs in a 5,050 mAh battery that manages to power the device for three consecutive tests. The makers have improved its performance as well as enhanced the power-saving modes that kickstart at 20percent rather than 10percent. With that, there’s up to 18W fast charging tech with the phone although you will only get a 10W adapter in the box so you will have to purchase it separately.
The camera setup has seen a few changes as well. Instead of using a 48MP primary cam, Nokia G21 uses a 50MP primary sensor that can capture quality images although the information related to the same is not available at least at the time of writing this. The 5MP ultrawide sensor is no more and instead, Nokia has equipped Nokia G21 with two auxiliary 2MP sensors for depth and macro each although I wouldn’t call it anything extraordinary. The front, on the other hand, is handled by an 8MP shooter.
Instead of using an entry-level chipset, the Nokia G21 users a Unisoc T606 which is slightly more powerful. It is an octa-core chipset with a 2xCortex-A75 and 6xCortex-A55 cores paired with a Mali G57 MP1 GPU. Moving on, we have an eMMC 5.1 storage with 64GB and 128GB options and along with that, you will get 4GB of RAM. Luckily, there’s an expandable memory card slot to increase the storage.
The entire G-series consists of smartphones powered by 5G although G21 is locked at 4G (so was the G20). Other connectivity features you get are dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging, and more. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner with the Nokia G21.
As it goes, Nokia has advertised Nokia G21 as “ready for Android 12” which holds although the phone has an Android 11 out-of-the-box. You will get two major Android OS upgrades i.e. Android 12 and Android 13 along with three years of security patches with the same. Plus, there’s ExpressVPN with a 30-day free trial pre-installed along with Spotify.
According to the launch, Nokia has equipped Nokia G21 with a 3.5mm jack so that’s amazing for audiophiles. You can get your hands on Nokia Wired Headphones at $31 while the wireless version is up at a price tag of $50. Plus, there’s a Nokia Go EarBuds+ TWS with an IPX rating, 24-hour battery life at $40 while the Nokia Go Earbuds2 arrives at $45.
