You can’t keep up with the best Android apps out there every month. In fact, we seldom use a fraction of a percent of the apps on the Play Store in our lifetimes. There are plenty of apps that you might not have heard of. Some complement your basic decision-making skills, some are great for productivity, while there’s a lot for leisure as well. In fact, there are lots of fish in the sea that you haven’t seen.

We at True-Tech are back with our latest edition of the best Android apps you should try in September 2025. Every month, we pick the top five best apps out there that, according to me, can grab a hot seat in your app drawer, apart from the usual suspects.

Now that you’ve decided to go through the list (good for us), here are the top five picks for this month’s edition.

Luck by Chance

Has it ever happened that you want to decide between two things — whether to go out for a walk or spend some time watching that favorite movie? If this or that comes to your mind often, Luck by Chance is an app for you. The free app lets you make certain decisions using virtual flip the coin, rock-paper-scissors, spin the wheel, and similar types of decision-making tools.

Of course, I wouldn’t recommend the app if you are choosing to donate blood or a life partner, but there are many tasks that should actually take much effort to decide. I just ordered my breakfast, and it took me a while to decide on the restaurant. If I had this app before, I would have simply flipped a coin (digitally) and picked the restaurant instead. I believe you shouldn’t invest much of your mind in deciding basic tasks.

Timemark

Whether you are doing a research project, reporting news, or simply capturing moments, Timemark lets you add date and GPS marks on those photos with precision. It helps you sort out photos by logs, especially crucial for field reports. I would say anyone from construction, real estate, field technicians, delivery services, etc., should try Timemark as it stamps your photos with location, time, logo of your company, coordinates, weather, notes, etc.

Free to use, Timemarks adds anti-tamper timestamps deeply imposed on the photos and with anti-fake GPS technology that makes it accurate as well. Export to Excel or PDF for reporting, view photos on maps, and get complete peace of mind knowing Timemark will take care of the specifics of each photo you take.

“Cybersecurity is not a joke, Jim!” — says Dwight Shrute. Although it isn’t what he said (IYKYK), it does make sense. Your Android phone is home to countless possibilities. But it is also where you’ll see ads, malware, trackers, and privacy issues lurking in the dark. With Athena, all is taken care of, as it is one of the popular security apps out there with a modern interface. With constant updates, it ensures the removal of any malware, spyware, and trackers that might be hiding behind the curtain.

Athena helps you filter content by category, block malicious websites, monitor data packets to and fro, disable internet access to particular app(s), and so on, without hampering your phone’s battery. The app supports flexible modes and dabbles between VPN and root modes for performance boosts.

Ready to slay with new words in your vocabulary? The app, aptly named Vocabulary, is great to learn new words every day. It is an effective way to include new words in your conversations without plaguing your mind with too many word choices at once.

Vocabulary requires minimal time to scroll, a customizable level of difficulty, and a category to find words based on your interests. Apparently, it takes one minute a day to brush up on your linguistic vocabulary and 10,000+ words to choose from, with pronunciation and examples. Try it once!

NetMirror - Best Android Apps you should try in September 2025

Unless you have Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video subscriptions, you are in for a treat. NetMirror is an app available on Android devices via side-loading. All you have to do is download the APK, install and voila, enjoy brilliant content in HD and with multiple audio options with NetMirror. Unlike many other apps that claim free streaming, NetMirror works on a single ad for 24 hours basis. You just need to watch an ad for a few seconds and bingo, the app is ready to use any more for 24 hours straight and that too without any compromise over the quality whatsoever.

I have been using NetMirror for quite some time, and it gives you access to a lot of content from three major platforms — Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+. It doesn’t support other OTT platforms yet, however, as it recently added Disney+, chances are, it will add other OTT platforms as well, and we are game for it.

Disclaimer: This app is a third-party app that is not available on the Google Play Store. To install it, you will need to side-load the APK file from its official website or a trusted source. Side-loading apps can pose security risks if the file is obtained from unverified sources. Always ensure you download from the developer’s official page and enable “Install from Unknown Sources” only when necessary. We are not affiliated with this app or the developer, and are not responsible for any issues that may arise from its installation or use.

Wrapping up!

Give these best Android apps a try and let us know whether you found any hidden gems or not. These apps usually get shrouded behind more popular apps, making it difficult to find these picks if you don’t know where to look. We bring such picks every month that you can check out here.
