- Vivo is launching its next-gen sub-flagship phone X Fold6 in Q2 next year.
- Reports suggest the phone will bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 200MP camera shooter and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
- As a successor to X Fold5, the phone does bring improvements in performance thanks to the latest chipset on-board.
Earlier in June, we saw Vivo X Fold5 launch with a sub-flagship chipset. We are still a few months away, but news around Vivo X Fold6 has already started to arrive. Apparently, the phone is slated to launch between April and June next year with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Did we get you all psyched up? Let’s dig into more details about the upcoming sub-flagship.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 expected to power the Vivo X Fold6
Vivo X Fold6 is expected to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, a sub-flagship chipset, and a successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. This continues to trend for Vivo not picking up flagship-cadre chipsets as they are more expensive than the sub-flagship ones. Tipster Smart Pikachu mentioned the chipset and how it will power the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T as well, debuting later this month.
On a Geekbench 6 CPU test, the SoC was able to score 2,981 and 10,136 points on single-core and multi-core tests, teasing performance gains compared to its predecessor.

200MP camera rumored, Zeiss optics expected
The phone will bring a 200MP camera snapper, although it remains unclear whether the tipster is talking about its primary cam or the telephoto shooter. Vivo is likely to bring Zeiss-branded optics on-board X Fold6 just as last year’s sub-flagships.
Most of the competitors are taking up 50MP triple rear shooters, so it remains to be seen which snapper gets that juicy 200MP sensor. Next up, we have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on board, possibly another way to cut back cost on the device compared to under-the-display scanners.
Vivo X Fold6 launch timeline
When asked, tipster Smart Pikachu said that the launch window is Q2 2026, i.e., April to June 2026, although the exact date remains elusive. Last year’s Vivo X Fold5 surpasses both Samsung Galaxy Fold6 and Oppo Find N5 in terms of dust and water resistance, so we are expecting the same for the upcoming device.
