Huawei Nova 3, Nova3i Indian launch set for July 26: Everything you need to know about it

After launching the Nova series in China, Huawei is ready to introduce two new smartphones in the Indian market. Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i would be the two devices making its way as a mid-budget smartphone. The brand will unveil both the devices at an event on July 26. The Chinese smartphone maker has already started sending out press invites for the same.

Both the smartphones share a similar design philosophy having a notch on the front and a glass back. The smartphones look similar to Huawei P20 Lite in numerous ways. The brand posted a teaser on their official Twitter handle a few days ago. The teaser reads “Get ready to fourfold your creativity in more ways than one. The new Nova is #Coming4You!”. Since there is a lot of emphasis on the number 4, the smartphone will come with 4 cameras which clearly suggests the Nova 3 and the Nova 3i.

Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i will be available exclusively on Amazon India. The dedicated webpage for the launch has already been live.

The Nova 3 comes with a large 6.3-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The device is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage. You can also expand the storage via MicroSD up to 256GB.

In terms of cameras, the smartphone comes with a dual camera setup at the back having a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. Both the sensors come with an aperture of f/1.8 and PDAF. At the front, there is also a dual camera setup with a 24-megapixel main sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor. Both the front sensors come with f/2.0 aperture. Just like Apple’s Animoji, the device comes with what the brand calls 3D Qmoji.

All of this runs on a battery capacity of 3750mAh  and Android 8.1 Oreo under the EMUI 8.2. Other specifications include a fingerprint sensor at the back, Face Unlock support, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Huawei Nova 3i, on the other hand, comes with a large 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD display having an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It will be the first device to come with Kirin 710 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. Speaking of optics, the smartphone has two sensors at the back – 16MP primary and 2MP secondary sensor. Just like the back, the front has two sensors – 24MP primary and a 2MP secondary sensor. This one also runs on the latest version of Android 8.1 Oreo under the EMUI 8.1.

Both the smartphone will boast AI features and the latest GPU Turbo technology. There is no word on the availability and the Indian pricing as of now. We’re speculating more details to come forward in the upcoming days. If you’re not aware, Honor  (the sub-brand of Huawei) will also be announcing a new smartphone, Honor 9N, at an event on July 24.
