Amazon India teases Huawei Y9 2019 with GPU Turbo and Kirin 710 SoC

Waiting for Huawei to come up with a new smartphone? Huawei has teased the new Huawei Y9 2019 on its Amazon India page and it is all set to release this month although the date is not available yet. Amazon India has listed the smartphone as ‘Coming Soon!’ which it has been utilizing for quite a number of Exclusive releases such as Huawei Play, OnePlus 6T, and others.

Talking about Huawei Y9 2019, it sports a 6.5-inch notched-display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 with a screen resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. The smartphone has ditched the fancier teardrop notch and has incorporated a more subtle and relishing iPhone X-like notch although Huawei has squeezed it to make it its own while it houses a dual front camera setup with 13MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 while the second cam has a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 for excellent front portrait and bokeh effects.

The smartphones packs in an above average 16MP main snapper at the back with an aperture of f/2.0 while there is a smaller 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 supporting up to the 1080p video shoot and an Honor Play-esque setup with a traditional fingerprint reader at the back.

Under the hood, the device offers its mid-range Kirin 710 octa-core* processor with 4/6GB RAM and a 64/128GB internal storage option the availability of variants do change depending upon the countries. The phone is backed by Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology that debuted with Honor Play. The technology boasts a phone’s performance when playing graphic-intensive games like PUBG and several high-end and popular titles.

The device comes with a massive 4,000 mAh which is slightly smaller than Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s 4,200 mAh although there is no fast charging capability let again reverse or even wireless charging. The device with getting Android 8.1-based EMUI 8.2 out-of-the-box which is known to be smooth and fluent making a great combination of both hardware and software. Finally, the device will fetch a price tag lower than the previously launched Honor Play at just INR 15,000 ($215) although the official price isn’t available yet.
