Samsung Galaxy F was initially showcased at the SDC 2018 in November where Samsung showcased the first-ever foldable phone. Fast forward to CES 2019 where it was teased again, however, the recent video accidentally posted by Samsung Vietnam is the one that gave a plethora of details on the upcoming Galaxy F. Based on all the previous information, Dutch publisher LetsGoDigital has prepared a 3D render that justifies the teased look and more.
The renders show a much pleasant and thinner Galaxy F with very tiny bezels around the edge. This is similar to what we have seen in a clip during the video when Galaxy F pops up for the first time in a video for just a couple of seconds. Deducing the video, the renders show that Galaxy F will have flat hinges and not segmented that we were expecting Samsung to develop the phone with.
Justin Denison, Senior VP of Samsung’s Mobile Product Marketing, said earlier that Samsung will diminish the polarizer size by up to 45% which is what reduces the thickness of the larger display. Also, Samsung Galaxy F has tiny bezels around the edges which are far more intriguing than the one we saw a few weeks ago.
Galaxy F will feature a larger 7.3-inch display with QXGA+ 1536×2152 pixels resolution that will be halved into a 4.58-inch front display at 840×1960 pixels. As opposed to previous reports that the front display will become inactive once the larger display is enabled or unfolded, however, the video shows that both the displays can be turned on simultaneously.
If you see the 3D renders, you’ll see that there isn’t any space for the front-camera module so we are guessing that the phone either doesn’t have any front camera or it uses the real cameras that could be either dual or triple, as selfie shooters which seem legit since there are two displays. But hey, we don’t know about the camera position as well so let’s just wait and watch.
Check out the display, it shows four icons on the lower half of the display. This is probably the One UI Samsung has been developing for its upcoming large-sized smartphones. Although there is a discrepancy since Denison quoted that his device has five icons in a row and these renders clearly show four in a row.
Anyhow, Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup on February 20 at 11:00 AM ET that will be aired across the globe. Also, it will launch the much-awaited Galaxy F or Fold or whatever Samsung chooses the moniker to be while the pre-orders are expected to be sometime in March or April this year.
