OnePlus announced last year that it is exploring products other than smartphones as well. Recently, OnePlus 7 series was launched by the company including OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. However, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced that their OnePlus TV with 4K panel is in the works. This was a surprise announcement to some as OnePlus has not launched products other than smartphones as of yet. Nonetheless, we had not heard about OnePlus TV ever since then.

But now, we are getting more details regarding OnePlus TV. We already knew straight from Pete that OnePlus TV will have a 4K panel. It is also reported now that OnePlus TV will support HDR. This means that OnePlus TV’s panel will be a 4K HDR one. The display on OnePlus TV should be similar to Mi TV 4 Pro which has a 55-inch 4K HDR panel.

The report comes to us thanks to a Twitter user named Ishan Agarwal. He says that he has received this information regarding OnePlus TV from his “source” which is aware of the matter. Also, he says that OnePlus TV is “not very far” and should be announced “soon”. Although we don’t know how soon the device could be announced, we sure hope that it will be in the next quarter. Also, there is a possibility of OnePlus TV coming along with the OnePlus 7T lineup.

According to OnePlus’ strategy, the company is likely to release a “T” branded smartphone soon. Because OnePlus explained earlier that they have limited inventory and want to give the latest technology on their smartphones to its consumers. Thus, they have opted for the twice-a-year launch strategy. There is no revelation regarding OnePlus TV’s pricing as of now but it should be priced similar to Mi TV 4 from Xiaomi. However, there is no official announcement regarding this so we should take the news with a pinch of salt.
