Today, February 20, is the official unveiling of Galaxy S10 series. Being the part of Samsung’s tenth-anniversary flagship phones, The Galaxy S10 Trio has been extremely hyped more than any device currently. The phones have been observed in tons of leaks so far, and it seems like we know nearly everything that’ll be announced. Based on several speculated leaks and rumors, here is what we think might appear on Samsung’s 2019 flagship phones.

We know that this time Samsung will unveil three handsets at its 2019’s unpack event, the premium Galaxy S10+, the standard Galaxy S10, and a more affordable Galaxy S10e. The Galaxy S10e is speculated to be a lightweight version of the other two devices with smaller screen size and so on. When it comes to the screen sizes, the Galaxy S10+ is rumored to boast a larger 6.4-inch panel, while the standard ‘S10’ is expected to feature a 6.1-inch screen. Besides, the Galaxy S10e is rumored to have a smaller 5.8-inch panel.

With the courtesy of leaked Btekt’s video review of Galaxy S10+ uploaded on YouTube, we came to know that the phone will have a 6.4-inch adaptive AMOLED display, with a QHD+ resolution of 3040×1440 pixels and a pixel density of 552 PPI. In addition to the Galaxy S10+, the Galaxy S10 will also have an adaptive AMOLED screen with the same resolution as of the premium S10+. The Galaxy S10E will also have the same AMOLED panel on top, with a slightly lower resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. As per a complete specs sheet from GSMArena, the Galaxy S10+ and the regular ‘S10’ will have a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 over the display. While the S10E will have a Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

In terms of appearance, Samsung Galaxy S10 Trio is confirmed to feature a so-called infinity-O display with a selfie cutout. As per earlier leaked renders, the high-end Galaxy S10 duo will have the same curved screen design with extremely trimmed top and bottom bezels while the lite variant will feature a flat display. The devices will adopt a curved glass black at the back accompanied by a horizontally aligned camera setup. In addition, it will sport a dedicated Bixby button, USB Type-C Port and a 3.5mm headphone jack which is still available.

Samsung will roll out a third-gen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for the two high-end variants designed by Qualcomm according to SamMobile and Evan Blass for Galaxy S10 and S10+ along with improved 3D face scanning system for more security. Samsung has reportedly dropped IRIS scanner from its portfolio on the onset of Galaxy S10 lineup. The Galaxy S10E, on the other hand, will have a physical scanner on the side. All three devices will carry support for facial recognition as an alternative option to the fingerprint scanner. As per Btekt’s video review, the Galaxy S10+ will boast reverse wireless charging as well, seen on Mate 20 Pro earlier.

In terms of optics, there will be a significant upgrade in this department. The Galaxy S10+ and the ‘S10’ will have a triple camera set up this time, with a 12MP (f/1.5 to f/2.4 variable aperture) standard wide-angle lens, 12MP (f/1.5 aperture) telephoto lens, and the third 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens. The camera configuration of both the ‘S10+’ and ‘S10’ will be the same. the Galaxy S10E will have a dual camera combo, with a 12MP (f/1.5) wide-angle lens and a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens. On the front, the Galaxy S10+ will have a dual 10MP + 8MP combo, while the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10E will sport a single 10MP shooters. According to Btekt, the front camera on the Galaxy S10+ will be capable of 4K recording. In addition, it will come with features like AR emoji, Live focus, etc.

Moving towards the hardware, Samsung Galaxy S10 line up will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, or Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 chipset, depending on the region. As per the specs sheet shared by GSM Arena, the Galaxy S10+ will be available in three variants, offering 6GB+128GB, 8GB+512GB and whopping 12GB+1TB Ram & ROM configuration. The regular Galaxy S10 will be available in two variants i.e. 6GB+128GB and 8GB+512GB. The Galaxy S10E will also get two variants, one with 6GB Ram and 128GB storage, and another with 8GB Ram & 256GB storage.

In terms of software, the Galaxy S10 lineup is expected to loaded with the latest version of the Android Pie 9.0, flavored with Samsung’s own One UI. The Galaxy S10+ will be fueled with massive ~4,000 mAh to 4,100 mAh battery, while the S10 will offer a 3,400 mAh of battery. The cheaper S10E is expected to house a 3,100 mAh battery. The devices are expected to enable with fast charging, as well as the new quick wireless charging 2.0 technology.

We are talking about the state-of-the-art Exynos 9820 SoC manufactured on an 8nm process which is tested to grab a 10% reduction in power consumption, 20% better single-core performance, 40% power efficient, and 15% multi-core performance when compared to the Exynos 9810 chipset manufactured using the 10nm process.

Also, the chipset is accompanied by a newly tweaked GPU tested to perform at 35% power efficient than its predecessor. Exynos 9820 SoC has been tested to outperform Qualcomm Snapdragon 855’ 3,413 (single-core) and 10,256 (multi-core) by scoring a new high of 4,472 points (single-core) and 10,387 points (multi-core) overall to produce higher performance, better battery life and more. Moreover, the Exynos 9820 features Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of pulling out strenuous AI-based tasks. In fact, the NPU can handle screen resolution of up to 8K at 30fps, 22MP single camera sensors or 16MP dual sensors and finally, a 3840×2400 or even a larger 4096×2160 pixel resolution.

However, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flavored S10 lineup too available in the U.S. and few other countries where Samsung doesn’t sell Exynos chipsets or otherwise.

The lite version i.e. Galaxy S10 Lite is expected to fetch a price tag between €669 to €779 based on a report detailing about Norwegian price tags that all these three smartphones will fetch in the European market. Starting at 6GB/128GB, the said Samsung Galaxy S10 (standard) will fetch a price tag of €799 according to a rumor, however, a different report suggests a price tag of €929. Similarly, the larger 8GB/512GB variant will fetch a price tag of around €999 or €1,149 based on different sets of rumors.
