Xiaomi began the story of bezel-less smartphones with their Mi Mix. Almost all the major OEMs followed them through their path and released smartphones with near bezel-less display. While the iPhone 8 with smaller bezels is yet to come out, Xiaomi has got Mi Mix as a remedy.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Tipped to Launch on September 11

To recall, Mi Mix came out with a 6.4-inch display having 91.3 screen-to-body ratio. Underneath the hood, it has a Snapdragon 821 (flagship processor of 2016) coupled with 4 GB RAM. Going by the rumors, we don’t think Xiaomi is not going to increase the decrease the screen size. Chances are they will retain the same 6.4-inch screen but with lesser chins (expecting 93% screen-to-body ratio).

We know the flagship processor of 2017 is Snapdragon 835. Given Mi Mix 2 is a top-level flagship device from Xiaomi, we don’t think they will omit 835 to opt for any other chipsets. We even have smartphones with 8 GB RAM now. So, the Mi Mix 2 will most probably pack in at least 6 GB of RAM beneath the hood.

Xiaomi always hesitated to bring their flagship devices to India. The first generation Mi Mix never made it to India. Mi 5 came but only the inferior version with 32 GB internal storage. We are waiting for them to release Mi 6 in India. Even though the history doesn’t support the argument of Xiaomi bringing Mi Mix 2 to India, it might happen this time.

The Xiaomi’s VP and India MD Manu Kumar Jain teased the Mi Mix 2 ahead of the launch with a simple image on his Twitter profile.

On the other side of the spectrum, the company is tightening their belts to launch a dual camera smartphone in India. According to the reports that came out earlier, we expect it to be the Android One device, on which Xiaomi has been reportedly working with Google.
