Xiaomi has managed to produce some of the best budget smartphones we’ve seen this year and I hope they’ll be continuing that streak. Xiaomi announced the launch of Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite in India on 2nd November, a budget oriented device with features which will make you go nuts. Well, it’s not their first time.
Reportedly, Xiaomi will be launching its much-awaited next-gen Redmi devices, the Redmi Note 5 and its other devices included in the lineup next week. We’ve been seeing various rumours and leaks floating around the Internet for the past couple of days. Recently, A Weibo user leaked a whole new set of renders of the Redmi 5 Plus. Even the leaks of the alleged Redmi Note 5 started from Weibo itself.
Taking a look at the leaks, the Redmi 5 Plus seems to be following the trend of the bezel-less display, the device will come with 18:9 aspect ratio display and is expected to come with 5.5-inch HD display. Whereas, the Redmi Note 5 is rumoured to launch with 18:9 aspect ratio but with a larger display up front with 6-inch Full HD display.
To the rear, we can notice the dual camera setup on the Redmi 5 Plus. Also, there is a fingerprint scanner at the rear just below the camera as seen in earlier devices. Both the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Plus are expected to launch with dual camera setup since that’s a thing now. Although, the Redmi 5 might be arriving with just a single camera. The Redmi 5 Plus may come with a primary camera of 12-megapixel and the front facing might be a 5-megapixel sensor.
The Note 5 might be packing in a Snapdragon 630 SoC here in India and will be having the MediaTek Helio P23 chipset in China and other regions too. As far as the Redmi 5 is concerned it’ll be coming with Snapdragon 450 chipset here in India.
Xiaomi recently announced the availability of MIUI 9 Global ROM, and since that’s released, all the devices are likely to come with MiUI 9 out of the box. As far as we know, the battery might be a 3790mAh one. According to reports, Xiaomi will unveil the devices before November 11. Let us know your thoughts on this.
