Asus is on fire as it announced its second-gen gaming-oriented powerhouse Asus ROG Phone II that has a few impressive specifications that make it one of the heaviest specs device. It is the first phone to get Snapdragon 855 Plus along with some of the key specs and accessories clubbed in a phone that looks futuristic with gradients and lines that run across the phone.

It sports a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz 10-bit HDR screen and has a 1080×2340 pixels resolution. Furthermore, the device has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 with a perfect color accuracy along with DCI-P3 color space which is far more impressive compared to any other gaming smartphone. The display has a latency rate of 1/ms only.
With a touch sensor sampling rate of 240Hz, the device offers a lower latency rate compared to Apple iPhone XS Max which is fairly impressive since Android smartphones aren’t that fast when compared to iPhones. Furthermore, the device has a near-stock UI with game-focused Android Pie v9.0 and it is optimized for landscape use as well. ROG Phone II has a specialized game launcher which customizes each aspect of a game such as the high-powered X mode and a refresh rate than can be tweaked between 60Hz to 90Hz to 120Hz for every game.

Moving on to the Asus ROG Phone II specs, it comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus that was unveiled last week and ROG Phone II became the first adopter for the same as well. The latest SDM855 Plus has been overclocked producing an output of 4% more than already snappy SDM855 along with an overclocked Adreno 640 GPU which is now capable of producing 15% more power as well. Unlike the last-gen ROG Phone I which had a binned chipset version of Snapdragon 845, the Snapdragon 855 Plus will be available commercially for all the smartphones. It has a RAM option up to 12GB.

Even though Asus managed to pull off a stunning endless list of specs and features onto this fastest Android gaming phone ever, it has been narrowed down to a width of just 78mm.

The Game Genie mode looks after all the notifications, incoming calls, and locks the brightness of the display when you are playing any game on the phone. It has new and improved AirTriggers that act as an actual button although without the presence of a hardware button. The AirTriggers has a low latency rate and recognizes and completes a press when done along with the swiping gesture. To enhance the gaming experience, the device has four microphones along with two vibration motors with one on the right and one on the left that produces directional haptic feedback when playing any game.

It has a front-facing stereo DTS:X ultra multi-channel audio that produces exceptional sound quality while the presence of 3.5mm headphone adds much importance to the device as well. Furthermore, the gaming phone has a vapor chamber that carries heat to the external vents while a second-gen AeroActive Cooler comes as an accessory and drags down the temperature by 4° to 5° C.

The device as a standalone has a 6,000 mAh battery that can power 7 hours of endless PUBG without any glitch which is exceptionally more than any other phones available till date. The Mobile Desktop Dock works by producing the output from the phone to the TV if in case you want a bigger screen.

Asus ROG Phone II Price

The prices for Asus ROG Phone II is not available yet although the 8GB/256GB configuration could go as high as INR 75,000 and as per my opinion, with an exceptional device beefed-up with so many features and high-end specs especially attuned to play games, this is an impressive price tag to commence with.
