Nexus Protect is Official!
The leaks were true! The Nexus 5X and 6P are not only up for pre orders today but along with it, Google also introduced Nexus Protect, on the September 29th event.
Nexus Protect is an accidental damage program which extends the typical warranty period of Nexus devices from 1 years to 2 years. Other than mechanical damage, Nexus Protect also covers drop protection and other accidental damages.
The Nexus Protect package is optional of course and you can buy it along with your new Nexus 5X and 6P for a price of 69$ and 89$ respectively. We are not sure if this plan will also be available on earlier devices like the Nexus 6, we will keep you posted.
Till now, we don’t have much information on whether this Nexus Protect plan will support devices like the Chromebook and Android Wear smartwatches or not, but we will gather more information and keep you updated as time goes on.
