The company has now announced the successor to its first foldable smartphone, named as “Royole Flexpai 2”.

Royole held an event where Bill Liu, the founder and CEO of the company revealed some of the features the upcoming smartphone will come with. The phone will have an improved 7.8-inch display, that the company calls the “3rd Generation Cicada Wing” Fully Flexible Display (FFD). The flexible plastic display has an aspect ratio of 4:3, and 1440p screen resolution. The display is around 50% more bright than its previous generation, and also has a higher contrast, a wider color gamut, and a faster response time. The hinge on the display has also been improved. The new 3S™ Hinge (Super Seamless & Stepless Hinge) on the display is now “wearproof” and “mechanically robust”. The company also claims that the display provides the smoothest bending experience, and can surpass over 200,000 bends.

The Royole Flexpai 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform with Kryo™ 585 cores and Adreno 650 GPU. LPDDR5 RAM and UFS3.0 storage will ensure the phone runs smoothly under any situation. Talking about speed, it will also support nine 5G capable bands that cover almost all major 5G networks around the world.

During the event, Royole announced a partnership with ZTE Corporation. Both the companies will work together to popularize 5G and flexible displays not only in smartphones but in other smart devices too. On this partnership, Bill Liu commented:
