There is a lot of hype around the iPhone 12 series launching later this year and we know that it is due to the 5G availability on these iPhones as well as the rumored design changes. However, people have also been reporting about the fact that Apple will definitely increase the prices of iPhone 12 variants across the lineup this year. Most of the reports claimed that the 5G support will make the prices go up as a lot of R&D has gone into the Apple chip and its 5G modem for this year. However, we now have a new leak suggesting the opposite of what has been reported so far.

This new report relates to the Apple iPhone 12 series pricing for 2020 and it looks like the prices will actually either remain the same as 2019 or have a slight decrease at the lower end while having a slight increase at the upper end. Now, this report comes from Jon Prosser who accurately revealed the iPhone SE 2020 launch date when everyone else got it wrong. Jon also says that this pricing leak has been received from the same source who told him about the iPhone SE launch date which adds a lot of weight on these pricing details.

Getting on to the actual report, the leaked price report suggests that the entry-level iPhone 12 might be cheaper this year coming at $649 rather than the $700 iPhone 11 from last year. However, it is worth mentioning that the iPhone 12 will have a 5.4-inch model this year for the base variant. The regular 6.1-inch iPhone 12, which will be an upgrade over the iPhone 11, will cost $749 which is actually an increase of $50 over last year.

As for the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, it will still have a starting price of $999 which is same as what we saw with the iPhone 11 Pro last year and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max will also start at $1099, again same as the iPhone 11 Pro Max starting price. The leak also confirms that iPhone 12 Pro models will have triple cameras with a LiDAR sensor while iPhone 12 models will have dual cameras.

The most interesting part about this leak, however, is that all these iPhones in 2020 are said to have an OLED panel as well as 5G support. So it means you will finally have an OLED display on iPhone under $999 mark. If you are someone who is fine with a smaller display than the iPhone 12 at $649 looks to be a pretty good deal coming later this year.
