We have been reporting about the Apple iPhone 9 which is supposed to be the cheapest iPhone from the company in recent years and it is also expected to be powerful since it will have 2019 internals. However, the design of this smartphone is expected to be outdated since it will be a recycled version of the iPhone 8 series from a few years back.

This means we are going to see chunky bezels on the front and a single camera on the iPhone 9 whereas the iPhone 9 Plus will have a dual-camera setup. Having said that, we expect the $400 starting price for the iPhone 9 series will make up for the old design and weaker camera system.

Now, we are here to tell you that an update is available for the iPhone 9 series launch which was reportedly delayed due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. A new image has been found of an iPhone 9 case inside Best Buy which reveals that the phone might be closer to launch that we expect it to be.

Also, there is an April 5 merchandising date for the case from UAG, a famous smartphone case manufacturer. The case’s box says it is meant for the “New iPhone 4.7-inch, 2020.” which we know is the iPhone 9. Also, this is obvious because there is currently no “new” iPhone with a 4.7-inch screen and it also says 2020.

Best Buy has been told to not increase inventory for these cases until April 5 which means they will not go on sale before that date. This gives us hopes that the Apple iPhone 9 will launch by April 5 and we might see an announcement from Apple this week with availability by next week. However, it is also worth noting that it will be a big risk from Apple to launch the new iPhone with half of the world in lockdown and its retail stores also being closed indefinitely.

Having said that, OnePlus has gone ahead with its launch of the OnePlus 8 series on April 14 but they also have the Chinese market to cater to which is now open for business after the Coronavirus outbreak meant that the country was almost closed for three months.
