Last year, Apple released a new Macbook Pro device with a 16-inch display that also came with a new keyboard called the “Magic keyboard”. This keyboard is the same as what we get with the iMac or Mac Pro from Apple. The introduction of this keyboard was forced because Apple had to get rid of the butterfly keyboard due to its issues.
Now, we see that Apple has brought its Magic keyboard down to its entry-level Macbook Air series as well. Therefore, you are no longer limited to buy the Macbook Pro 16-inch if you want a better keyboard.
As far as the Macbook Air 2020 is concerned, Apple has also upgraded the storage space on the base variant of its device while bumping its processor to Intel’s 10th gen chips. Also, the base variant of Macbook Air starts at $999 in the US whereas students can get the same variant for $899. It comes with a 13.3-inch Retina display, Intel’s i3 processor, 256GB SSD storage and Touch ID.
If you move higher up the ladder, you can get an i5 processor along with 512GB SSD for and the company says that it will provide storage options up to 2TB and up to i7 processor on the Macbook Air. The company also claims to provide 80% improved graphics performance and it comes with Intel Iris Plus graphics.
The speakers on Macbook Air have also been upgraded and the company says that they come with “advanced stereo speakers for immersive, wide stereo sound for activities like watching Apple TV+ content or playing games in Apple Arcade.”
Along with the Macbook Air 2020, Apple announced the new iPad Pro with a new and improved keyboard apart from minor upgrades to the Mac Mini. This also gives us hopes of announcement regarding the Macbook Pro 13 or 14-inch variant along with reduced bezels, updated internals and the new “Magic keyboard”.
