We have seen the reports about Apple’s new iPhones getting delayed due to production issues related to the pandemic. This means that we are unlikely to see the new iPhones this month but we do have more products in the line waiting to be announced. These products include the Apple Watch as well as the iPad such as the next-generation affordable iPad as well as the iPad Air 4. So we finally have an update on this announcement which was first reported to be taking place in September.

Jon Prosser, who has quickly made his name as the best Apple leaker around, has revealed that Apple has scheduled a press release for September 8 in which the company will reveal their new Apple Watch and the iPad models. Prosser says that while the press release has been scheduled, it has not been “locked-in” which means the confirmation will come in the morning of that day which is September 8 after the press has been briefed.

Apple’s press release is scheduled for September 8 9 am EST according to Jon and if everything goes as per plan, this will be when the press releases are sent out. The exact details of what will be announced are not known but we do expect the Apple Watch Series 6 as well as the iPad 8 and the iPad Air 4 in this press release. The availability dates of these products are also not known which means Jon did not actually get hold of the press release itself.

Looking at the same time period from last year, it was September 10 when Apple announced the iPhone 11 via an event. It was also a Tuesday and dates are also very similar so it is most likely tomorrow we will see the Apple Watch Series 6 along with the new iPad in regular and the Air series getting launched.

As for the iPhones, we will most likely have to wait for the next month and we should expect the first or second week of October for the iPhones to be announced. It is worth noting that Apple can announce the iPhones right now through an event but they will only have it available at the end of next month which would be a long wait so it is better to delay the event as well.
