Consumers anticipate new design elements and technology improvements with each iPhone model release. One debated topic regarding the iPhone 15 Pro is whether it will feature a button-less design.

Despite previous assumptions that Apple would continue to move away from physical buttons, recent sources suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro might still include them. This article will discuss the button-less design rumors and the reasons Apple may choose to retain physical buttons for its latest flagship model.

Popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently reported that Apple would not use the solid-state button design for a “button-less” appearance on upcoming iPhones due to “unresolved technical issues before mass production.” Analyst Jeff Pu also made a similar suggestion through 9To5Mac.

Previously, it was believed that the iPhone 15 Pro would replace physical volume and power buttons with solid-state ones, equipped with two taptic engines. This would provide the feeling of pressing buttons without any actual physical movement, similar to the iPhone 7 home button.

If the new rumors are accurate, Apple will continue to use physical buttons found on the iPhone 14 Pro models. The iPhone 15 Pro is currently in the EVT stage, which makes the switch simple. Moreover, there would be no new design to manage, streamlining production and testing phases.

Solid-state volume buttons might be delayed until the 2024 iPhone models, allowing Apple more time to develop the necessary components. This contradicts previous rumors and market expectations.

Apple’s true intentions remain unclear, but there are several other changes likely to occur. The iPhone 15 Pros and even regular iPhone 15 models may feature a USB Type-C connection for the first time. The Dynamic Island, which debuted exclusively with the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, is expected to be included in all models. The iPhone 15 Pro models are rumored to have a larger rear camera hump and a narrower bezel.

In conclusion, despite rumors of a button-less iPhone 15 Pro design, it now seems that this may not be the case. Apple appears to be sticking with its proven design, at least for now. While new technology advancements are exciting, consistency and reliability are also essential qualities for daily-use devices. It will be interesting to see what Apple has planned for the iPhone 15 Pro and how it continues to push smartphone functionality and design boundaries.
