Yes, you read it right. TikTok Resumes is a short-term pilot program that TikTok has started from July 7 till July 31 where more than 30 companies have already signed up to accept applications in the form of video resumes during the tenure of this pilot. TikTok is banking on the hashtag #CareerTok which has become a subculture on TikTok for jobs and career-related content influencing college students and younger ones to gain necessary information and more.
TikTok Resumes, which is an extension of TikTok’s brand ambassador program, requires users to create a video resume. They can check out TikTok Resumes for tips and techniques. The instructional video posted on the website does mention that users mustn’t share personal contact information right away. Users can search for job openings on the website. They can create the resume video, post it on TikTok and share the link in a questionnaire from any company they are interested in applying for.
Talking about the job openings, TikTok has already gained multiple job openings ranging from becoming a WWE Superstar to a Senrio Data Engineer at Shopify, or entry and midlevel job profiles in stores and warehouses at Great Clips, Sweetgreen, Chipotle, and Target, among others.
