Vivo X60 Series is set to Launch in India by the end of March

Vivo launched the new Vivo X60 series smartphones in China a couple of months ago, and also announced that the smartphones will arrive in the Indian market as well, but there was no certainty of the launch date or not even any certain month. Now, after so much waiting, Director of Brand Strategy Nipun Marya confirmed via virtual conference that the Vivo X60 series will arrive in the Indian market by the end of this month, i.e., March 2021.

Nipun also informed that the series will include all the three Vivo X60 series smartphones, i.e., Vivo X60, Vivo X60 Pro, and Vivo X60 Pro+. Other than that Nipun said that Vivo will also be bringing the imaging-focussed Vision+ initiative which was announced back in September last year, to build a visual content environment for mobile photography enthusiasts. The company confirmed that they will start mass production of the new RGBW camera sensor by H2, 2021. It will/can bring a new set of mobile photography culture to the whole smartphone industry.

Vivo X60 Pro+

In case you missed the Vivo X60 series specifications. The Vivo X60, X60 Pro, and X60 Pro+ will feature a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display has a screen resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), and an aspect ratio of 19.8:9. Other display features include HDR10+ support, brightness up to 450 nits. The display also houses a small punch-hole cutout in the middle for the selfie camera.

Under the hood, the X60 and X60 Pro are powered by the octa-core (1×2.8 GHz & 3×2.6 GHz & 4×2.0 GHz) Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB onboard UFS 3.1 storage, whereas the X60 Pro+ features the new octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 680 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 680 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 680)  Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with Memory Fusion Technology (you can use 3GB from the storage as additional RAM) and 256 GB of onboard UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, all the three Vivo X60 series smartphones have unique qualities, and one of the USPs of the Vivo smartphones is their camera, so the company doesn’t compromise in terms of camera. This time they even partnered with Zeiss to implement the best mobile camera lens possible.

The base Vivo X60 features a triple-camera setup at the front and a single punch hole camera setup at the front for selfies. The triple rear-camera setup includes a primary 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 sensor with an aperture of f/1.79 and a 4-axis OIS anti-shake, a secondary 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 with a viewing angle of 120-degrees, and then finally a 50mm 13-megapixel telephoto sensor with an aperture of f/2.46. At the front, the X60 features a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the punch-hole housing.

The mid Vivo X60 features a quad-camera setup at the front and a single punch hole camera setup at the front for selfies. The quad rear-camera setup includes a primary 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 Gimbal sensor with an aperture of f/1.5 and a 4-axis OIS anti-shake, a secondary 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 with a viewing angle of 120-degrees, a tertiary 50mm 13-megapixel telephoto sensor with an aperture of f/2.46, and then finally an 8-megapixel periscope sensor with an aperture of f/3.4 with 5x optical zoom and up to 60x superzoom (hybrid). At the front, the X60 features a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the punch-hole housing.

The Vivo X60 Pro+ is a beast in terms of camera. The quad-camera setup of X60 Pro+  includes a 50-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture, Laser Auto Focus & Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). a secondary 8-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor with an aperture of f/3.4 and 5x optical zoom, a tertiary 32-megapixel telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.1 and 2x optical zoom, and then finally a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and a viewing angle of 114-degrees. Other camera features include Zeiss optics, HDR10+, 8K recording at 30fps, and 4K recording at 30/60 fps. At the front, it features a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the punch-hole housing.

Other specs include a 4300 mAh (33-watt fast-charging),  4200 mAh (33-watt fast-charging), and 4200 mAh (55-watt fast-charging) battery in X60, X60 Pro, and X60 Pro+ respectively. Connectivity options include Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, GPS, NFC, USB C, and sensors include fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, color spectrum.
