2021 Tata Tigor EV Announced with a 306KM range starting at INR 11.99 lacs in India

Tata Tigor EV has finally arrived in India as it was launched on Tuesday. It is known as the cheapest EV in India and the first to arrive for private buyers after the launch of Tata Tigor EV (2019). Tigor EV is available in three trims i.e. XE, XM, and XZ+ and its price tag commence at Rs 11.99 lacs ex-showroom. Here’s more about the new EV.

Tata Tigor EV Price in India

The Tata Tigor EV XE trim is available at Rs 11.99 lacs (ex-showroom) while the price tag goes up to Rs 12.49 lacs for the XM trim and the top-most trim is available at Rs 12.99 while the trim with dual-tone color option carries a price tag of Rs 13.14 lacs and the version is dubbed as XZ+ Dual Tone. There are two color options available i.e. Daytona Grey and Signature Teal Blue.

The latest electric vehicle from Tata dubbed as Tigor EV arrives with a 26kWh liquid-cooled battery with a capacity of producing 55kW of power and 170Nm of torque. The battery uses a high voltage architecture called ZipTron technology that enables it to charge faster i.e from 0 to 80 in just 60 minutes. The battery is rated with IP67 certifications making it waterproof and weatherproof.

According to Tata, Tigor EV has an ARAI-certified 306 km range on a full charge which has been improved heavily compared to the pre-facelifted Tigor EV that was launched keeping fleet operators and government employees in mind and has a 142 and 214 km of range on standard and extended variants.

Apart from that, the new Tigor EV has a Gloss Black panel with Electric Blue accents on the radiator grille which differentiates it from the ICE Tigor. The fog lamp housing now has LED DRLs. You also get a 7-inch touchscreen on the dashboard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. There’s a 4-speaker system with 4-tweeters tuned by Harman Kardon as well as a digital instrument cluster and an automatic climate control on-board.

Tata Tigor EV is big on safety as it packs an EBD and ABS along with seat belt reminders (front passengers) and a rear parking camera with sensors. On GNCAP’s EV crash test, the Tigor EV has scored 4-starts which is way better than many EVs available there. You also get hill descent and ascent assists on the new edition.

The new Tata Tigor EV (2021) is surely more powerful and has a higher range than both the 2021 Xpers-T and pre-facelift Tigor EV released last year.
