Xiaomi Announces Black Shark 2 With Pressure-Sensitive OLED

After making a series of appearance in numerous leaks, rumors, and articles, Xiaomi has officially announced Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gaming phone as a China Exclusive product and it is lit packing in the latest hardware and more thanks to its gaming heredity exhibited first by its predecessor Xiaomi Black Shark that was launched last year.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 sports a 6.39-inch OLED display but with a twist. The device has a pressure-sensitive system enabled underneath the display that enables users to apply pressure and get things done simply by pressure at the corners of the screen while playing hyper-intensive games like Fortnite, PUBG, and others. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner manufactured by Samsung.

Moving further, Black Shark 2 gaming phone sports a gradient handheld grip back panel which gives a majestic appearance to the device. It sports the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset that we have seen just a few times along with a 6GB RAM bundled with 128GB internal storage as a base model while the larger high-end tier sports a 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage and finally, it is paired with Adreno 630 graphics processor that offers 20% greater performance at hand.

Finally, the device has a vapor cooling chamber that allows it to cool down when playing games or using intensive apps. About the optics, the device packs in a dual-camera setup at the back arranged in a vertically stacked 48MP plus 12MP sensors that allow clicking brilliant pictures and videos although it is not its prowess but it is an excellent gaming-oriented smartphone. The device has a more than average 20MP selfie shooter mounted at the front without any notch that differentiates it with other Xiaomi devices that are opting for various types of notches.

Moving further, Xiaomi upgraded the 18W fast charging speed on Black Shark (2018) by introducing a much faster 27W fast charging speed for Black Shark 2 that now hosts a colossal 4,000 mAh battery that puts it in-line with Samsung Galaxy S10+ which has a 4,100 mAh battery with similar SoC, RAM configuration, etc.

The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is now available in China as an exclusive product which means it will take some time to resonate in other countries. It is available in Shadow Black and Frozen Silver color variants with a price tag been $476 or CNY 3,200 for its entry-level 6GB/128GB variant while the higher 12GB/256GB variant goes up to $625 or CNY 4,199 which as per the context, is almost half of what Samsung Galaxy S10+ quotes in other markets.
