Elon Musk’s SpaceX has scheduled its first-ever all-civilian mission on September 15. Apparently, Netflix has announced a near real-time space documentary on the mission covering all the events right from the selection to the footage from the Dragon capsule whilst orbiting the space.
Dubbed as Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission To Space, it will premiere on September 6 and the second episode will premiere on September 13 before the launch scheduled on September 15. Netflix will release a full-fledged feature-length episode by the end of September. This is a five-part documentary that will give viewers a peek behind the scene.
Backed by Jared Isaacman, the all-civilian space flight to space is a privately chartered flight to fund St June Children’s Research Hospital of $200 million. Hayley Arceneaux, a doctor’s assistant at St Jude and childhood cancer survivor, Christopher Sembroski who is a US air force veteran, and Sian Proctor, a geoscientist and a former NASA candidate. Jared Isaacman will join the mission as a mission commander.

The mission onboard the SpaceX Dragon capsule is set to reach an altitude higher than the International Space Station (ISS). The crew will spend three hours in the capsule followed by re-entry.
The upcoming Insipiration4 mission is the first-ever mission that goes at the highest altitude in 20 years and the first time when a superpower is not involved in the mission i.e. the United States. The mission aims to raise $200 million towards cancer treatment at the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission To Space is co-produced by Time Studios along with director Jason Heir of The Last Dance by Michael Jordan.
