Remember Fairphone? The Dutch social enterprise is back with a new smartphone dubbed as Fairphone 4 that brings 5G, higher repairability score, security updates for 5 years, and more on the table. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fairphone 4.

Fairphone 4 Pricing and Availability

When it comes to the pricing, Fairphone 4 arrives at EUR 579 for the 6GB+128GB variant while the higher 8GB+256GB fetches a price tag of EUR 649. You get to choose green and grey on both the storage variants although the top variant gets a third color i.e. speckled green. The sales are scheduled for October 25 in Europe.

Fairphone 4 sports a 6.3-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top of it. The front camera housed in a usual waterdrop-shaped notch has a 25MP sensor. On the other hand, the rear camera setup brings a 48MP primary sensor with OIS, a 48MP ultrawide snapper, and a third cut-out for the ToF, color, and autofocus sensor.

The phone has two RAM variants i.e. 6GB and 8GB along with two storage variants of 128GB and 256GB. Plus, you get a microSD card slot to pump up the storage further. The device gets a beefy Snapdragon 750G 5G under the hood with a max frequency of 2.2GHz. It is clubbed with Adreno 619 GPU as well.

The phone uses a 3,905 mAh battery under the hood along with up to 20W fast charging speed. To prevent e-waste buildup, the phone doesn’t have a bundled charge or even the cable in the retail box. Perhaps, you can use your existing cable and charger with its USB-C 3.0 port which is a universal standard nowadays. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Fairphone 4.

The Dutch OEM is offering Android 11 out-of-the-box. Along with that, you get two major Android version updates i.e. Android 12 and 13. Along with that, you get five years of security patches and the period ends by the end of 2025.

Fairphone 4 arrives with MIL810G drop test certification along with IP54 splash resistance. You get all the usual connectivity features with the phone including dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.1 with LE and A2DP, GPS, NFC, and more.
